Many people have questions about God, about Jesus and about themselves. They often ask themselves questions like “Who is Jesus?” “How do I pray?” “Why and how should I read the Bible?” “Who is the Holy Spirit?” “Why did Jesus die?”……
You can get answers to these questions and more at The Hebron Christian Church.
GOD of the Bible is the one and only one true and living God. This one God eternally exists in three persons- God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. These three persons are completely equal in attributes, each with same divine nature and each person is fully and completely God. God is a personal and perfect Spirit who is infinite, eternal, and unchangeable in His being and attributes. The Bible is clear that GOD is ultimately incomprehensible to us; that is, we can never fully comprehend His whole being. “Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised, and His greatness is unsearchable” (Ps. 145:3)
Jesus Christ is the most definite revelation of all these attributes. Jesus Christ took on a full and complete human nature, including the physical body, so that He could truly represent humanity (Phil 2:6; Heb. 2:17).
God spoke to mankind in many ways in the times past. In these last days He chose to speak through His Son, (Heb. 1:1-4) Jesus Christ. Jesus claimed to be GOD in human flesh and His life, death and resurrection is validated by history and evidence. Bringing the saving message to mankind who are lost and dead in sin, Jesus’ death on the cross stands at the center of human history as God’s supreme act of love. Jesus’ death on the cross is the only source of redemption for the lost and the fallen humanity (Rom. 14:9).
Man is sinful and separated from God, so we cannot know Him personally or experience His love. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Rom. 3:23). Jesus Christ is God’s only provision for man’s sin. Through Him alone we can know God personally and experience God’s love. Christ died in our place. “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8). We must individually receive Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord. How? We receive Christ by personal invitation. Receiving Jesus Christ involves turning to God and trusting Christ to come into our lives to forgive us of our sins. We receive Christ by faith and as an act of our will. Jesus is the only way to eternal life (John 3:16). The devil (Satan) is the way to eternal death. Which road are you taking???
Knowing your sins are forgiven and you are ready for heaven is as simple as the following steps:
A. Admit that you have sinned…..
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23) “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us” (1 John 1:8).
B. Believe in Jesus…..
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life” (John 3:16).
C. Confess and leave your sin…..
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9).
You might want to use the following prayer as a guide:
Lord Jesus, I acknowledge that I’m a sinner, and I’m sorry for my sin. Thank You for dying on the Cross for me. Please forgive me of my sin, and accept me as Your child. I desire to live for You, Jesus. Amen.
Congratulations on becoming a part of God’s forever family. Obviously this is only a first step. If you would like to know more about your decision, please contact us…
